Description
Alismatis, Chinese medicine name. It is a dried tuber of the alismataceae plant. In winter, when the stems and leaves begin to wither, pick, wash, dry, and remove the fibrous root and coarse skins.
The tuber of Alismatis contains alismol A, B, C, Alismol A monoacetate, Alismol B monoacetate, Alismol C monoacetate acetate alismol A, 16 β-methoxy-alismatis B monoacetate, 16 β-hydroxyalismatis B monoacetate, sitoster-3-o-stearoyl-β-D-glucopyranoside. Also contains choline, sugar and potassium, calcium, magnesium and other elements.
Alismatis contains choline, calcium and other components, which can reduce the content of total cholesterol and triglyceride in serum and slow down the formation of atherosclerosis. Alismatis and its preparations are also used in the treatment of inner ear vertigo, dyslipidemia, spermatogenesis, fatty liver and diabetes.
