Description
Troxerutin, commonly known as hydroxyethyl rutin, vitamin P4, is an hydroxyethyl ether derivative of rutin. At present, it is mainly extracted from the natural plant Sophora Japonica. As one of the derivatives of rutin, Troxerutin is not only inherits the biological activity of rutin, but also has better water solubility than rutin.
Troxerutin can inhibit red blood cell and platelet aggregation, prevent thrombosis, increase blood oxygen content, improve microcirculation, promote new angiogenesis to enhance collateral circulation, and prevent edema caused by increased vascular permeability. It has significant protective effect on acute ischemic brain injury.
